About This Project

Inspire has partnered with World Help and Hope of Life to adopt a village in Guatemala in need of transformation. The village is called Colonia Tawayni, La Union and is located about 30 minutes by 4×4 vehicle through steep, muddy coffee farming terrain. They have a total population of about 720 – comprised of 160 families with 450 children. This village is in dire need of school repairs, classrooms, playground equipment, water system improvements, and a church.

A well is unable to be dug into the mountains at this location. Currently, there is a water source approximately 2 miles away from the village, however the current water source does not provide enough water for all of the villagers. The pipes are old and cracks bring dirt into the water system. This project would provide a holding water tank, more than 2 miles of pipeline and a distribution system.

Current services are held in the home of one of the church's members. This project will provide a church facility for meetings and other ministries.

Colonia Tawayni had run completely out of food with no means to get more, and people were starving. Thankfully, our ministry partners Hope of Life received permission to take food to the mountain villages, including Colonia Tawayni.

School Classroom Repairs

Currently the school is overcrowded and only has 5 classrooms to house 450 children. Repairs are needed to the existing 5 rooms.

One new classroom is needed to facilitate a computer lab. The school recently had 16 computers donated.

One new playground to provide the children in school with a safe place to play.

Health Clinic Medical Supplies

The village health clinic building was in dire need of repairs and renovations to properly care for those needing medical attention.

Along with repairs, the medical clinic had barely any medical supplies on hand to treat patients. This project helped fully stock the clinic with the desperately needed supplies.
